De la Veliko Tarnovo, vezi impresii, am plecat pe la ora 9 dimineața spre Kazanlak prin Gabrovo și Shipka unde am ajuns după circa 7 ore, distanța dintre cele două orașe fiind de circa 100 de kilometri. Am mers pe Drumul European E85 și ca de obicei am oprit la câteva din obiectivele turistice întâlnite pe traseu, în plus șoseaua care trece prin Pasul Shipka aflat la peste 1.100 de metri urcă și coboară foarte sinuos dar foarte spectaculos, mărind timpul necesar deplasării.
